The tiers are back up because they give me a perspective to talk about things.
Despite only one win so far this year - and that in Singapore - Adam Scott has stealthily climbed to number 4 in the world rankings. Of course, big names like Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, and Retief Goosen have helped out a bit with their unimpressive play of late. With Phil Mickelson shutting down for the season, Scott can gain on him, but it is doubtful he could pass him at this point. It is unlikely that Scott will play more that 3 or 4 more events himself.
Jim Furyk is back ahead of Mickelson and should finish the year at number 2 playing a few more events before the season ends. It is also likely that Luke Donald will finish the year as the top European, but we'll see how that plays out.
